Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Distinguished Recordings
December 23, 2007
Distinguished Recordings wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This year has been a huge year for our two recording artists, Umbriel Rising and Liquid Metamorphosis.
Umbriel Rising saw the release of 2 EPs via the internet (Galactica Nova and Mystery Prophet), both of which garnered many streams and downloads, the Galactica Nova EP especially was very well received and has been streamed a couple of thousand times. All of this led up to the colossal achievement of the Extraterrestres album, which was released as a limited run CD through CDBaby and as a digital download at itunes, beats digital, napster and other digital stores. It received great reviews and sold well. At the end of the year, it was made available as a free download at Jamendo, where it has been a highly rated and popular streamed and downloaded album.
Liquid Metamorphosis have been working steadily at releasing the debut album 'Searching For Esperanto'. Last year's epic song 'Shoot The Moon' was remixed and included on the CD charity album 'Indie for America' released in May 2007, a collaboration of artists chosen from Dmusic.com (with whom we have a close relationship). http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=261255195&s=143455
LQM also had collabs...

Umbriel Rising new release 'Mystery Prophet EP' on P2P network Jamendo and Internet Archive
June 10, 2007
In anticipation of the new Umbriel Rising album, a 3 track EP entitled 'Mystery Prophet' has been released on Jamendo, the popular P2P based music sharing site for independent musicians. The Galactica Nova EP was released there successfully in January 2007 and this release gives a sneak preview of 3 more Umbriel tracks, including Mystery Prophet which is also included on the soon to be released 'extraterrestres' album, scheduled for release in mid July 2007. The other tracks 'Spacewalk Lite' and 'Weird' are not included on the album release, so enjoy them while you can.
In addition to this, the Mystery Prophet EP has also been uploaded for free download to the Internet Archive, the world's largest source of open source audio and is available in super high quality FLAC format (lossless compression, no difference in audio from CD audio), Ogg Vorbis and Mp3 vbr formats.
P.S. Thanks to Bluenevus for allowing permission to post our collaboration 'Weird' written and performed by Bluenevus with extra musical performance, production and remixing by umbriel rising. Check out his excellent work at ... http://bluenevus.dmusic.com/music/

Umbriel Rising album coming along nicely projected for May/June release
March 10, 2007
Umbriel Rising are almost set to release a debut LP, provisionally entitled 'extraterrestres'.
It will feature tracks from the Galactica Nova EP (with plans to remix/revamp 2 of those tracks) and include several new tracks to boot. The recording sessions have been going well and currently 8 tracks are ready, with another 2 in draft stage right now.
Current projections are for an album release around late May-Early June.
One of the new tracks, 'umbriel guitar jamz' will be added shortly to the www.distinguishedrecordings.com website as a sampler.
m.j.brown of umbriel rising says "I'm really psyched about the album. It has been a massive labour of love and a lot of time has been spent composing, editing, recording, scrapping ideas, changing things around and such. I believe it will represent a broad spectrum of electronic music, from old skool synth to modern day breakbeat with rock, funk, prog fusions in there to keep the listener interested."
